Mermaid 12, 20+ diagram types
Flowcharts, sequence, class, ER, Gantt and more, plus architecture, kanban, packet, radar and treemap.
A real full-screen editor
Code, Split or Preview, with a split you can drag to any size. Syntax highlighting, autocomplete and inline error markers.
Templates for every type
Start from a ready-made example for every diagram type instead of a blank page.
Themes and looks
Match Confluence light and dark, pick a built-in theme, switch to neo or hand-drawn looks, and use ELK layout for large graphs.
Zoom, pan and full screen
Crisp full-width diagrams you can zoom, pan and open full screen right on the page.
Copy and download
Copy as PNG or SVG, or download either, straight from the diagram toolbar.
PDF and Word ready
Save a diagram from the editor and it appears as an image when you export the page to PDF or Word. Otherwise its Mermaid code is exported.
Convert existing code blocks
Turn the Mermaid code blocks already on a page into live diagrams in one click, or use a .mmd file attached to the page as the source.
Accessible by design
Add a title and description to a diagram and they become its accessible name and alt text. The toolbar works with a keyboard.
Your data stays in Atlassian
Diagrams live in your page and its history. Nothing leaves Atlassian and the app stores nothing itself.

Frequently asked questions
Quick answers to common questions.
Where are my diagrams stored?
In your Confluence page, like any other content. Mermaid Studio keeps no copy of its own, so page history, permissions and backups apply to your diagrams automatically.
Does any data leave Atlassian?
No. Diagrams are drawn inside Confluence and nothing is sent to outside servers. The app is built to qualify for the Runs on Atlassian programme.
Can I turn my existing Mermaid code blocks into diagrams?
Yes. Use the Convert Mermaid code blocks action on a page, check how many were found, and confirm. It saves a new page version, so the old one stays in page history.
Will my diagrams appear in PDF and Word exports?
Yes. Once a diagram has been saved from the editor, it appears as an image when you export the page to PDF or Word. Otherwise it is exported as its Mermaid code.
Can I keep my diagram in a .mmd file?
Yes. Attach a .mmd file to the page and choose it as the diagram source. Update the file and the diagram follows.
How much does it cost?
Free for up to 10 users. Above that it is US$0.18 per user per month.
